Counselling is generally used by people who are currently experiencing or still affected by difficult or chaotic times in their life. It helps to unravel any painful or confusing threads which are restricting people from moving forward as they would like.

Person-centred counselling (PCT) is intended to provide people with the space and time to explore their true feelings and worries without the fear of being judged or disapproved of. By providing this ‘safe’ environment and sensitively uncovering and sharing your world as you experience it, your counsellor will assist you towards a deeper understanding of your feelings and behaviour, increase your self-awareness and help you to move on in a positive way.

When you feel overwhelmed or trapped in a hopeless situation the counselling process acts as a catalyst, opening up new possibilities by helping you to look at the issues confronting you from a new perspective. When you still feel affected by events in your past the counselling process can help you to understand their impact on your current relationships and attitudes, and help  you towards resolution.

Issues that can be addressed through counselling include relationship difficulties, anxiety and stress, low self esteem, abuse, loss and bereavement, addictions and life crises.
